Leagues & Leaderboards

Create leagues, invite players, scan scorecards, and track live standings with full handicap management.

Create your own golf league and invite players to join with a simple invite code. Whether it's a casual group of friends or a structured club competition, Fairway Buddies handles the scoring, standings, and handicaps so you can focus on the golf.

Create a League

Set up a league in seconds — give it a name, add a description, and you're ready to invite players. Each league gets a unique invite code that members can use to join instantly. You can associate one or more courses with your league so scorecards are filtered to the right tracks.

Scorecard Scanning

Snap a photo of your scorecard and our smart scanning technology reads the scores for you. Review, confirm, and submit — no manual entry needed. Prefer to enter scores by hand? The full manual score entry matrix supports both scan-prefill and fully manual entry, with per-hole par and stroke index displayed for reference.

Live Leaderboards

Watch the leaderboard update in real time as scores come in. Sort by gross, nett, or Stableford points — switch the view to see how you stack up against the field under any scoring format. Count-back rules are applied automatically to break ties, with detailed commentary shown in the standings.

Handicap Management

Track WHS handicap indexes per member with automated adjustment rules. Set custom handicap allowances per league (e.g. 95% or 100%), and let the system calculate playing handicaps and course handicaps automatically from the course slope and rating. Handicap adjustments are logged with a full audit trail.

Weekly Rankings

Enable cumulative ranking points for your league. Players are ranked each period and awarded points — first place earns the most, and the number of ranked positions is configurable. Run daily or weekly cycles with configurable week boundaries (Monday–Sunday or Sunday–Saturday).

Best Round Mode

For single-course leagues, standings can be based on each player's best N rounds. Choose how many rounds count (5, 10, 15, or 20) and whether selection is by gross, nett, or Stableford. This keeps the competition fair for players who play more often without letting volume dominate.

Team Matches

Configure team scoring formats separately from individual scoring — team Stableford, pairs match play, or singles match play. Choose head-to-head or individual pairing modes, and better-ball or combined pair scoring for Stableford. Full hole-by-hole score entry with automatic result calculation.
